I left my laptop on overnight, and when I woke up, I noticed that about 60% of the screen is covered with these strange horizontal lines. The colors are all off too, looking like an old TV where the RGB is showing instead of a clean white. I've read that this might be related to the display cable, but I'm not entirely sure. I shared some images of what it looks like. Strangely enough, when I started playing Elden Ring, the screen went back to normal for a bit, but then it keeps coming back. Anyone have any idea what could be happening?

Have you tried restarting your laptop? Sometimes that simple step can help. Also, was it in a safe spot while you were snoozing? It might be heat-related or an indication that your screen is on the fritz. If you gently open and close the lid, do you notice any changes?
Are you talking about a Windows repair restart? It seems like your laptop was at least propped up with a fan to avoid overheating, which is good. I’ve had experiences where moving the lid doesn’t really help, so I get your frustration.
