I opened my HP Victus laptop about an hour ago, and the screen is glitching severely, making it almost unreadable. I followed some advice online and uninstalled the graphics driver, but after restarting, it looks even worse. Now there are pink and orange horizontal stripes covering most of the screen, with a yellow square and a black blotch in the top left corner. I'm unable to share a photo for some reason, but I'm looking for any advice on how to fix this issue without taking it in for repairs. I rely on this laptop for my work and can't afford to pay for repairs right now.

This sounds like it could be a hardware issue, probably related to the ribbon cable connecting the motherboard to the screen. If the display changes when you adjust the hinge, that further suggests a problem with the connection. Has it ever been dropped? That might have affected the hardware over time.
It sounds like a hardware issue for sure. To help troubleshoot, try connecting your laptop to an external monitor. If the display looks fine there, then the problem is likely with the screen or the cable itself. Just a heads up, that black blotch could indicate screen damage.
I appreciate the advice! Here’s a picture of what it looks like: [link to image]. What do you think?
I did drop it a while ago, but there were no issues with it until now. I was just using it normally when this glitching started.
