I've recently transplanted an M.2 drive from my old laptop into my new setup, but I can't get it to show up anywhere. It's a bit odd because it has three connectors instead of the usual one large and one small. I've tried multiple solutions, but most instructions don't match my MSI motherboard. The drive doesn't appear in Device Manager, the disk management tool, or even in BIOS. Here are my specs for reference: Ryzen 5 7600, Zotac RTX 4060, 32GB RAM, 1TB Western Digital 2.5 inch SATA SSD, and a 600 Watt Thermaltake PSU, all on an MSI PRO B650-P motherboard with built-in WiFi. Any ideas on how I can get this drive recognized?

First off, we need to figure out if your M.2 drive is SATA or NVMe. The three connectors could suggest it's an NVMe model, which might be a compatibility issue with your motherboard. You should check your motherboard manual to confirm which types of M.2 drives it supports. Sometimes, if the drive isn't seated properly, it might not show up either. Make sure it’s securely in the slot—give it a little push if necessary!
Another thing you could try is resetting your BIOS. Sometimes settings can get a bit funky, and a reset might help it recognize the new hardware. Also, check if there’s a firmware update for your motherboard. Manufacturers occasionally release updates that improve hardware compatibility.
I hadn’t thought of that! I’ll look for a BIOS reset option and check for updates. Appreciate the advice!
I think it is seated correctly, but I’ll double-check the manual for compatibility. Thanks for the tip!
