Help! My Monitor Turns Off When I Start Gaming

Hey everyone! I'm having a weird issue with my monitor. It works fine until I start playing a game, and then after about 5 to 10 minutes, the screen turns off, but my computer stays on. When I'm not gaming, everything's fine, and my PC runs for hours without any problems. Any idea what's going on?

It sounds frustrating! After your monitor turns off, do you need to restart your system to get it back on? If that's the case, you might want to look at the RAM settings or consider updating your motherboard BIOS. Another possibility is a GPU driver issue—try using DDU in safe mode and reinstalling the latest stable drivers.

Sounds like re-plugging doesn’t do anything either; you really have to restart the whole system to get it working.

Yeah, I've got to hold down the power button to reset it. Definitely going to check the drivers as well.

I did a complete reset on my PC hoping it would fix the problem, but it didn’t help at all. It’s still happening.

It sounds like it could be a cable issue. Make sure you're using a good quality cable and that it's securely plugged into your GPU. Sometimes a loose connection can cause the monitor to lose signal, especially under the load of gaming.

It's strange because I had the same problem yesterday while streaming at 1440p. The monitor just cut off suddenly, but the PC kept working. I'm going to try your suggestion and see if it helps!

I also tried using another monitor, and it did the same thing, so I'm not sure it's just the monitor.
