Help! My Network Adapter Isn’t Working (Code 28)

I'm having issues with my network adapter, Mercusys MA80XE, on my B450M S2H motherboard. I keep getting a code 28 error saying it doesn't work. I've tried downloading drivers from both the official Mercusys site and Intel's site, but nothing seems to fix the problem. Whenever I try to use the installer from the Mercusys site, it prompts me to confirm whether I want to upgrade the driver from version 20.100.10.7 to 22.180.0.2. I attempted to uninstall the previous driver but couldn't find it at all. I'm running Windows 10. Any ideas on how to get this working?

Hey! So sounds like you're in a bit of a bind. Did you go ahead and update the driver when prompted by the installer? That could potentially resolve the issue if the newer version has better compatibility. But if you already tried that and it didn't work, you might want to check Device Manager to see if the adapter is still listed there, and possibly try a manual search for drivers directly through Windows Update as well.

I had a similar issue with my adapter. It might help to completely remove the network adapter from Device Manager, then reboot your PC. Windows should automatically reinstall the drivers for you. Just make sure you run the installer as an administrator when you do try to update it, that sometimes makes a difference.
