Help! My New AMD PC Just Froze and Shows CPU Fail — What Could Be Wrong?

Hey everyone, I recently built my first PC with my friend's help, and it worked perfectly for a day! Here's my setup: Asrock B850 Steel Legend Wifi, AMD Ryzen 7 9800x3D, G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 32GB, Asrock Radeon RX 9070 XT, and a Corsair RMe 850W PSU. I booted it up, ran a clean install of Windows, and gamed without any issues for 16 hours straight with great FPS and reasonable temperatures. However, after installing a Windows update, I started experiencing lag while working which I thought was internet-related. I called my ISP since I was getting disconnects while gaming. But then out of nowhere, my mouse and keyboard became unresponsive, and I couldn't even power down my PC. Eventually, I had to turn off the PSU. Now the PC shows a "CPU FAIL" error, and I haven't had any luck fixing it by reseating components, using BIOS Flashback, or clearing the CMOS. Do you think the motherboard, RAM, or CPU could randomly have failed? Could there be a connection with my previous internet problems? I'm planning to try my wife's RAM later. Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

You definitely want to make sure to update your BIOS, especially with new builds. Sometimes, compatibility issues with newer hardware cause problems like yours. Don't be afraid to update it next time, even if it seems to be working. If you keep having issues, I’d suspect there might be an underlying problem with the motherboard or CPU. Could be a power issue too, so double-check your connections, especially the CPU power cable! Good luck!

Yeah, I learned that the hard way too. Thankfully, I've got a backup plan now for BIOS updates!
