I recently upgraded my graphics card from a GTX 1650 to a GTX 9060, but now my monitors won't show any output after installation. I can hear Windows booting up through my speakers, so it seems like the system is working. I have a 500W power supply that only has two 6-pin connectors, while the new GPU requires an 8-pin. To address this, I used an adapter that combines both pins into one 8-pin connector. Is this setup likely the problem? Just to note, my old GPU works perfectly fine in the same system.

First off, make sure your HDMI cable is plugged into the GPU, not the motherboard. If you hear Windows startup sounds, that means your system is posting, which is a good sign! If it is plugged into the GPU and still no display, you could try connecting the HDMI to the motherboard (if your CPU has integrated graphics) to see if you can access the system that way. Check the device manager too, as it might help identify any issues.
Good call! Be sure to check the connections and try different HDMI ports if your GPU has more than one. I once missed a basic step like that and it caused me hours of frustration!
