I just bought the new iPhone 17 Pro Max last week, and I'm facing a major issue. While I was watching a video last night, the screen suddenly went completely black. I thought it had died, so I charged it, but there's no response. I've tried force restarting it multiple times, but the screen remains dark. I can hear Siri and feel the phone vibrating, so I know it's still on, but I just can't see anything. I've done some digging and found out that many people refer to this as the "black screen of death." Unfortunately, the nearest Apple Store is two hours away, and I'm hoping to avoid that trip if possible. I've also left it charging overnight and tried magnet charging, but nothing works. I'm feeling pretty frustrated since it's a brand new phone. Has anyone encountered a similar issue and found a solution?

I had the exact same issue with my new iPhone! It was super frustrating. Have you updated to the latest iOS version? Sometimes a simple software update can fix these glitches. Just curious if it could be something like that, or do you think it’s more of a hardware issue?
Just checking in! Any updates on your situation? I remember when mine happened, I was stuck too. I ended up taking it to a service provider rather than the Apple Store and got it sorted pretty quickly. Let us know what you decide!
That really sucks! The good news is that your warranty should cover a repair or replacement without any hassle. You don’t necessarily need to head to an Apple Store; you might find an Authorized Service Provider nearby who can help you out. Just a heads-up, if you plug your phone into a computer, it won't do much if the screen isn’t working since you'll need to respond to the Trust prompt to proceed.

I haven't updated yet since I can't see anything on the screen. I'm afraid it might need to be checked out first.
