Help! My New Laptop Can’t Connect to Ethernet

I've been having a frustrating issue with my new laptop not connecting to the internet via Ethernet. I spent hours troubleshooting and just when I was about to give up, it suddenly connected and worked for a while. However, after I installed Nvidia's game ready drivers and restarted the laptop, the Ethernet connection issue returned. Interestingly, I can still use Telegram, which seems to function through some kind of private DNS connection, possibly indicating a DNS issue. I've tried several troubleshooting steps like flushing the DNS and even tinkering with the device drivers. I even reinstalled Windows, but the problem still persists. My old laptop connects perfectly fine with the same cable and port, which adds to my confusion. I'm out of ideas on what to do next!

It sounds like the Nvidia drivers might have triggered the issue. Since your laptop connected briefly before the installation, it’s possible there's a conflict. Have you tried rolling back the drivers to see if that helps?

I did think about that! The problem was there before the drivers, but I’ll definitely consider rolling them back to see if it changes anything.

Since you mentioned that flushing the DNS didn’t work, you might want to check your network adapter settings. Make sure your Ethernet adapter is enabled and not set to a static IP unless you specifically need that. Sometimes, resetting the network settings can clear up these issues too!

Thanks for the tip! I'll give resetting the network settings a try and check the adapter settings. Hoping it leads to a solution.
