I just got my MSI Thin A15 Al B8VF laptop this morning, and I'm running into some issues when I boot it up. I'm getting an error message that says: "An error has occurred in the script on this page. Line: 2 Char: 166201 Error: Unable to get property 'prototype of undefined or null reference Code: 0 URL: https://logincdn.msauth.net/shared/5/js/login_en_aMzpUYIEm 5W3MTQZnulkHg2.js. Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?" After I click 'Yes', the laptop seems to work fine, but it randomly restarts without warning. It's not a normal Windows restart either, as it just shuts down and powers back on. Does anyone know what could be causing this or how I can fix it?

Try checking out this link for a similar error: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/i-get-this-error-when-i-start-up-my-laptopwindow/1368fd90-2892-44ae-8bfb-ebed70ad8145. It seems like the issue is connected to OneDrive. If those fixes don’t work, I’d recommend taking about 20 minutes to install a fresh copy of Windows.

Is this a second-hand laptop? If so, definitely do a clean install of Windows. You never know what junk might be lingering from the previous owner. If it’s brand new, you can try using Autoruns from Sysinternals to disable unnecessary startup scripts, but a fresh Windows install is safer.

I actually bought it new from Newegg via Walmart. No signs of wear, but looks like it’s time for that Windows install anyway.
