I recently built a new PC with Windows 11 Pro, and I've been running into some strange issues, especially with games that use anti-cheat like Arc Raiders and Apex Legends. After some troubleshooting, someone suggested that my Windows install might be corrupted. They recommended reinstalling Windows 11 from a USB drive, detailing steps to load defaults in the BIOS, enable Secure Boot and TPM, then create a Windows 11 USB using the Media Creation Tool to install it from there. However, when attempting to boot from the external drive during installation, I ended up with error messages saying Windows failed to install and that my device needs to be repaired. I can access my regular Windows screen fine, but every time I try to boot from the USB, I hit a roadblock. I could really use some help sorting this out!

It sounds like you're having some boot issues after the install. Make sure that once the installer finishes and your PC restarts, you remove the USB drive or manually select your internal drive in the boot menu. If the system keeps trying to boot from the USB, you'll see those error messages again. Check your BIOS settings too - make sure that your internal drive is set first in the boot order and that CSM/Legacy is disabled. Also, keep Secure Boot and TPM enabled. If you're set to install again, don't create partitions on the NVMe; just select the unallocated space and let Windows handle it.

You should definitely run the Windows installation again. If it fails, it’s good to check for any dump files in your C:WindowsMinidump folder—that can give you insights into BSODs. If you're unsure how to access them, boot into Safe Mode and check if the files are there. After that, make sure you’re following the guide to create the minidump properly.

Yeah, I've dealt with that before! After the initial copy, removing the USB is key. If you still see that the option for unallocated space is available but it says Windows can't install, it's possible there might be an issue with how the drive is formatted. Just make sure everything is properly set up in the BIOS and try formatting the USB again to create that installation media.
