Help! My New PC Is Not Displaying Anything and There’s a CPU Error Light

I just built my first PC, but I'm running into a couple of serious issues. I'm not getting any display on my Spectre monitor, and there's a CPU error light glowing on my MSI B550M PRO-VDH WiFi motherboard. I found some info online suggesting I might need to update the BIOS. I downloaded the latest version (2025-04-17) onto a 64GB flash drive, but when I plugged it into the motherboard, nothing happened, and the error light is still on. What steps should I take to resolve this? Here are my specs: Motherboard - MSI B550M PRO-VDH WiFi, CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X (6-core, 12-thread).

Have you checked your RAM? Sometimes the CPU light can indicate issues there. I had a similar problem and found that one of my RAM sticks wasn't seated properly. It’s worth giving it a try to reseat them or test with one stick.

I believe my RAM sticks are seated correctly since I checked both of them. But thanks for the tip, I’ll give it another look just in case!

Before doing the BIOS update, make sure you've followed the correct procedure. Just plugging in the USB drive doesn't usually work. You often need to use a specific port or hold a button during power-up to trigger the BIOS update. Check the manual for details on how to update it correctly!

Exactly, it's not as simple as just inserting the drive. Double-check your motherboard manual for instructions on how to initiate the update.
