Help! My New PC Keeps Blue Screening – What Can I Do?

Hey everyone! I recently built a new PC and ran into some major issues with constant blue screens, especially during startup. The only old part I'm using is my power supply from my previous build. I've managed to get Windows 10 up and running, and I even downloaded some motherboard drivers, but the blue screens still happen—just not as frequently now. I've seen a few stop codes, including "ATTEMPTED_WRITE_TO_READONLY_MEMORY" (specifically referencing HDAudBus.sys), "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION", and "SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED". I've run Linux on this setup before without any problems, so I'm a bit perplexed. I need help diagnosing the issue and figuring out how to fix it. If anyone needs more info, I can share anything else necessary. Here are my specs: ASUS Prime A620-Plus Wifi6, ThermalTake 700W Smart Power Supply, DDR5 2x16 GB RAM, AMD Radeon RX 5700XT GPU, and an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 8-Core Processor.

Have you tried running Memtest86 to check your RAM? Sometimes, faulty RAM can lead to these blue screens. Also, it's a good idea to check your storage health with tools like CrystalDiskInfo or HD Sentinel to ensure your drives are in good shape.

It sounds like you might need to get dump files from those blue screen errors for a better diagnosis. If you can boot into Windows normally or through Safe Mode, check the C:WindowsMinidump folder for any dump files. You can zip the folder and upload it to a file-sharing site like MediaFire or Catbox. More dump files help in analyzing the issue effectively, and you might want to adjust the settings to create Small Memory Dumps for future errors.

The stop code related to HDAudBus.sys points to an issue with your audio driver. A quick workaround could be disabling the built-in audio in the BIOS. If you go to the Advanced Mode in BIOS, look for 'Onboard Devices'—you should see an option for HD Audio there. Disabling it might solve the blue screen issue temporarily.

I disabled the onboard audio as you suggested. I haven't seen a blue screen yet, but I'll keep an eye on it and report back!
