I'm having some trouble with my ASUS ROG laptop running Windows 11. When I try to change the display mode in the Nvidia Control Panel from 'Automatic Select' to 'Nvidia GPU Only', the option gets grayed out and I can't make the change. Has anyone else experienced this and know how to fix it?

It’s common for laptops to have some restrictions with switching GPUs. Make sure you don't have any other applications interfering with the change, and also check if your laptop's BIOS settings allow for dedicated graphics to be used. If you're still stuck, consider looking up your laptop model's bios settings online.

One thing to keep in mind is that sometimes you need to set the preferred graphics processor in the Nvidia Control Panel under 'Manage 3D settings'. If that doesn't work, you might want to update or reinstall the Nvidia drivers—you can grab the latest version from the Nvidia website.

It sounds like your laptop might be set up to prioritize integrated graphics over the dedicated Nvidia GPU in power settings. Try checking your power plan settings and set it to 'High Performance'. This could allow you to switch to the Nvidia GPU without issues. Also, make sure your drivers are up-to-date; sometimes outdated drivers can cause problems like this.
