Help! My Old GPU Isn’t Installing on Mint 22.1 – Any Alternatives?

I'm having trouble with my old GeForce GT 610 GPU on Mint 22.1. It won't install automatically, and even when I try to manually install it, the system crashes. I'm looking for recommendations for another Linux distribution that will support my old hardware so I can still enjoy gaming. I'm open to options that aren't too similar to Windows and would also like the ability to personalize my setup.

Sounds like you've got a tough situation! First off, check if your GPU is properly seated. If the drivers aren't installing automatically, that can be a hassle. From my experience, older Nvidia drivers can be tricky. It could be worth trying out Pop!_OS — it's user-friendly and might handle your GPU better. If that doesn't work, you could look into Arch Linux or Manjaro, but be prepared for a bit more setup. I had a similar issue with an older card, and older distros like Mint 21 sometimes do the job better than the latest versions. Good luck!
