Help! My PC Can’t Connect to the Internet… What Should I Do?

I've been struggling with an internet connection issue for a while. My PC just won't connect to the internet, neither through Wi-Fi nor LAN, while all my other devices are working perfectly fine. Last time this happened, I fixed it by manually entering the DNS (8.8.8.8), but that trick isn't working now. When connected via LAN, it shows up as 'Unidentified network'. I've tried a bunch of solutions from online searches, but nothing is fixing the problem. Can someone help me sort this out?

Have you tested connecting to Wi-Fi while your PC is really close to the modem? It might help narrow down the connection issue.

Unfortunately, my Wi-Fi isn't detecting any networks at all.

Sorry if I missed something, but have you tried this:
1. Right-click the Network icon in the taskbar.
2. Select 'Open Network & Internet settings'.
3. Go to 'Change adapter options'.
4. Right-click the Ethernet connection and click 'Disable'.
5. After that, right-click again and hit 'Enable'.

Tried that, but no luck.

Here are a few ideas:

1. Check if your PC is set to DHCP.
2. Try uninstalling and reinstalling your Ethernet drivers.
3. If you can use Wi-Fi from a mobile hotspot, take that route to test it.
4. Your PC’s IP might be blocked by the router.

You can also run commands in Command Prompt: type ‘ipconfig /release’ and then ‘ipconfig /renew’ to refresh your IP address.

DHCP is set up correctly, and I’ve already tried uninstalling the drivers. The Wi-Fi doesn’t even show any available networks.

There’s also the option to do a DNS flush, right?

First, try resetting your network settings. Go to your PC's settings, search for network reset, and let it work for a few minutes—your PC should restart automatically after that. Also, make sure your router settings haven’t blocked your PC from accessing the internet. That might be the key to your issue.

I’ve already done the network reset, and it didn’t help. The router hasn't changed settings in years either.

Go into Device Manager, uninstall your Ethernet adapter, and then check for Windows updates. Sometimes additional driver updates can solve the problem.

I uninstalled it, but I can’t check for updates without internet access. Just restarted after that and still nothing.
