Help! My PC Crashes During Games and My SSD Isn’t Working

I built my PC around November last year, and it was running smoothly. Lately, though, it crashes while playing games, even some that aren't too demanding. Here's what usually happens: I can play a game like Madden 26 for about 20 minutes without any issues, but then it starts to lag, crashes barely two seconds after the FPS drops, and my whole PC shuts down. Sometimes, the game just crashes and the PC stays on. I've even seen a brief black screen with the error code (0xc000021a).

Here are my specs:
- Motherboard: Gigabyte Aero G B650
- GPU: 7800 XT
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 6-Core Processor
- RAM: 2 sticks DDR5 T-Force Delta
- PSU: GF1 750W Thermaltake

I have one SSD of 1TB and another of 2TB. I initially needed more storage and added the 2TB drive, but now it won't work. I can't launch any apps installed on that drive, and when I run chkdsk, it says it can't complete because the drive is "RAW." Can someone please help?

I had a similar problem just last month! My PC would crash while gaming, and my drive would stop working, showing all files as RAW. After doing some tests, it turned out my PSU wasn’t providing enough power to the drive. Swapping it out for a new one fixed everything for me. Might be worth looking into a more powerful PSU if that's the case for you too!

First things first, check your CPU and GPU temperatures while gaming. High temperatures can definitely cause crashes. When mine were overheating, I had similar issues. Maybe it’s worth monitoring those during your gameplay to see if that’s the culprit.

I don’t think it’s a temperature issue for you since you mentioned your GPU is running cool. Have you considered that it might be a PSU problem? A decent 750W should be enough, but sometimes the power delivery can still be flaky. Just a thought!
