Help! My PC is Stuck in Infinite Boot Loop After Updating to Windows 11

I need some urgent assistance! I recently updated my PC to Windows 11, but during the update process, I accidentally shut down the system while it was still in the background. Since then, when I booted it up, I've been stuck staring at an infinite loop of spinning dots for over eight hours. I tried asking for help and was advised to wipe everything and reinstall Windows 11 using a USB drive, which I did. Now I'm facing more issues, as I can't install my drivers because the necessary files are missing or corrupted. I attempted to access safe mode, but I can't because it requires a BitLocker key that I can't find. I'm really at a loss here. My PC has been functioning well for over three years, but after wiping the disks and now only loading BIOS, I'm not sure what steps to take next. Is there hope for recovery, or should I consider switching to console gaming altogether? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Yikes, it sounds like you had a tough time there! Shutting down during a major update can really mess things up. Since you've wiped the disk, you're likely looking at a fresh install from a bootable USB. If you've already tried that and it's still not working, you might need to think about a clean installation of Windows that wipes everything—just be prepared to lose your files. If you're not sure how to create a bootable USB, Microsoft has tools to help with that. Good luck!

Sorry to hear you're having such a rough time! It does sound like you might have serious issues stemming from that update. If the BIOS recognizes your hard drive, there may still be hope, but you might need a new SSD if BitLocker remains an issue. And yeah, Windows updates can be rough; many people have reported driver problems post-update.

Yeah, I’ve heard similar issues from others. Just be careful with your next steps. Waiting for updates that cause these problems should be discouraged. If you can access another PC, definitely consider using it to prepare everything you need.

Honestly, ChatGPT isn't great for this kind of advice. You probably didn’t need to wipe everything. I’d suggest trying to do a repair install first. If you have files you can’t lose, think about booting from a Linux USB to back them up. If the BitLocker key is an issue, you're really hosed unless you can recover it somehow.

Don't stress too much! You might have an option to repair your Windows installation without losing everything. Try creating a repair USB on another working computer, and see if that gets you back in action without wiping everything. If that doesn't work, a clean install may be necessary. Just be sure to back up any important data first, if you can.
