Help! My PC Just Died, What Could Be Wrong?

So, I was in the middle of a game when I heard a clicking sound and then my screen went completely black. There weren't any blue screens or error messages, just a black screen. Now, when I try to turn it on, the RAM lights up, but nothing else happens – no fans spinning, no beeps, and no display output. When I hold down the power button, the RAM light turns off. I'm thinking that either the motherboard or the power supply has failed. What do you all think? My specs are i7 13700k, RTX 3080, 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5000, and a Cooler Master 850W power supply. Thanks in advance for any help!

Dump files are usually crucial for diagnosing issues like BSODs, but since yours isn't booting at all, you won't be able to access those. The fact that you can't get to BIOS could really pinpoint a hardware failure. I'd start with swapping out the power supply or checking all the connections on the motherboard.

Sounds like your i7 might be toast! The clicking noise is definitely a bad sign. Have you checked the motherboard? Sometimes when they go, they won't even light up. You mentioned the CPU fault LED – if that’s not lighting up, it could mean the motherboard isn't communicating with the CPU.

Yeah, it’s strange that nothing lights up on the board at all. You might want to consider trying a different PSU if you can, just to rule that out.
