Help! My PC Keeps Crashing Due to GCC and RGB Control Issues

I'm having a major issue with my PC where the GIGABYTE Control Center (GCC) software is causing constant Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) crashes. Whenever I install GCC, I get a BSOD with the error code 0x9f (driver_power_state_failure), but when I uninstall it, the crashes stop, though I lose RGB control of my fans and cooler. For some context, my setup is an AMD Ryzen 9 9700X with 32GB RAM, and I've been trying different RGB controlling software like OpenRGB and SignalRGB, but with limited success. I've already spent over 32 hours trying to sort this out! Can anyone give me advice on what to do next?

It sounds like GCC and RGB Fusion just aren't playing nicely. If you have any additional RGB control apps like iCUE or Armoury Crate installed, it could be causing conflicts, so make sure to remove those if they're active. This setup can sometimes trip up your drivers when they compete for control.

Nope, I don't have those installed. I started with just GCC, but after the crashes, I added SignalRGB.

You might want to collect some dump files for troubleshooting the BSOD. If you can boot into Windows normally or via Safe Mode, check for any files in C:WindowsMinidump. These can help pinpoint the issue. Just zip the files up and share them via a file site that works well; people can analyze them then!

It seems like GCC is likely causing issues with certain drivers when your PC wakes up or during power transitions. Here’s a step-by-step you could try: First, uninstall all Gigabyte utilities including GCC, reboot, and make sure no leftover files are around. Then, update your AMD chipset drivers from the official site. After that, stick to only one RGB app to avoid conflicts. Make sure you also look at your BIOS settings to control the RGB effects from there instead. This approach often stabilizes the system and avoids these crashes!

GCC is uninstalled and I updated to the AMD drivers. Now I'm sticking with SignalRGB, but I got an error trying to upgrade the RGB controller firmware from the Gigabyte page. Got any tips?

Be cautious with the firmware upgrade—make sure it's the exact package for your model. If you run into issues, try reaching out to Gigabyte support directly for guidance.
