Hey folks, I'm really struggling with my computer right now. I use it mostly for coding and gaming, and lately, it's been crashing every two minutes with Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) errors. This started just yesterday. Initially, I couldn't even boot into Windows, and Steam gave me a "failed to load correctly" error. After uninstalling Steam, I got my system to start up again, but it only lasted about two minutes before crashing again with the error DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE.
Here's what I've tried so far:
1. I uninstalled my graphics driver and allowed Windows to reinstall it.
2. I ran a memory scan, which showed everything is fine.
3. Using Bluescreen Viewer, I found that NTOSKRNL.exe seems to be an issue, along with some errors related to pshed.dll and af-unix.sys.
4. I also removed and reattached my NVMe SSD, but it didn't help.
Today, I experienced some changes; my system initially ran for about four minutes before crashing again. Now, I'm seeing BSODs even before my BIOS loads, and I got a new stop code: KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE with amdfender.sys failing.
Here are my specs:
- 32 GB RAM DDR5 (2x16 Vengeance)
- Windows 11
- Gigabyte 650
- AMD Ryzen 7800x3d
- Samsung 1 TB SSD NVMe
- AMD RADEON RX 6800
I'm at my wit's end here and could really use any advice on what to do next!

It’s strange that you're getting BSODs even before BIOS loads. That usually indicates a hardware problem. Try reseating all your components: cables, RAM, GPU, etc. Sometimes, a loose connection might cause issues. Once you think everything is secure, consider running a Windows repair to see if that helps. Also, double-check your power supply, especially after that power cut you mentioned.
Hey, it sounds like you're dealing with a mess there! First things first, have you tried to collect any dump files for further analysis? If you can still get into Windows or Safe Mode, check the C:WindowsMinidump folder for any crash logs. Zipping that folder and sharing it can really help in diagnosing the issue. Just a tip: use a file sharing site like catbox.moe or mediafire.com since Reddit has issues with some hosts. You'll want multiple dump files if you can get them, too. Also, make sure your dump settings are adjusted for Small Memory Dumps if you're not getting much.
Good point! It’s worth ensuring all your hardware connections are solid. Also, since there was that power cut, it might be wise to check your PSU and see if it’s still supplying stable power.
