Help! My PC Keeps Freezing When I Play Games – Overheating Issues?

I recently built my own PC using the S300 case, and while it was working fine initially, I've run into serious issues when trying to play games. My PC keeps freezing, and I suspect it's due to overheating, especially with my CPU. Here are my specs:

- GPU: RTX 3070
- CPU Cooler: Thermalright AXP90 X53 Full Low Profile ITX
- CPU: i7-14700K
- Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B760-I

I don't really care about graphics settings as much as just being able to play without interruptions. What can I do to fix this heating issue? I'm open to downclocking or any other suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Wow, you’ve got a low-profile cooler on that i7-14700K? That’s probably why you're having thermal issues. The AXP90 is rated for about 150W, while that CPU can draw 250W or more. You might want to significantly limit the CPU’s power, like down to 60% or even less to get it to run cooler.

That makes a lot of sense! Do you think I should also consider upgrading to a bigger case and a better CPU cooler?
