Hi everyone! I recently added three new fans to my PC build to improve cooling and reduce noise. My setup originally had two intake and one exhaust fan, and the new fans I installed are Corsair RS120 ARGBs. I connected them to my motherboard using the sys_fan1 and dled_2 headers, but ever since, my PC has been rebooting unexpectedly—sometimes after just 15 minutes and other times after 2 hours. I've checked the temperatures on my CPU and GPU, and they're all good, plus my power draw seems fine for the motherboard. Can anyone guide me on how to diagnose this issue? Here are my specs:
- Gigabyte B550M RS3H AC R2
- RTX 3060Ti
- AMD 5500 GT
- 750W PSU (about 4 months old)
- Darkflash DLM21 case
Thanks for your help!

It sounds like your problem could be related to power management rather than raw power shortage. Even though 750W should be enough, the way you have daisy-chained the new fans might be causing some issues. Here’s what you can do:
1. **Isolation Test:** Disconnect all three new Corsair fans and see if the reboots stop. This will help you confirm whether the added load is causing the problem.
2. **Check Connections:** Try connecting only the PWM functionality of the fans without the ARGB. If this stabilizes the system, the RGB might be causing interference on your power channels.
3. **Distribute the Load:** Instead of daisy-chaining all three fans to a single header, connect them to separate headers (like SYS_FAN1 and SYS_FAN2). This should help alleviate the current load on any single point.
For the best long-term solution, consider using a SATA-powered PWM/ARGB Hub. This way, all the power requirements will come directly from your PSU instead of the motherboard, keeping its signal path clean.
Just a heads up, if you keep hitting the Overcurrent Protection (OCP) on your motherboard, it could damage the traces over time, so it’s worth addressing this soon! Good luck!

Thanks for the detailed explanation! I'll try these steps and see if it makes a difference. Fingers crossed!
