Hey everyone, I've been experiencing some frustrating issues with my PC where it randomly shuts off while I'm gaming. It's not a thermal issue, as my PC does get hot but I've had no problems playing games like South of Midnight. However, when I tried playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Forza Horizon 5, it just shut off. I've noticed that if I cap the FPS, it lasts longer before shutting down—like around an hour instead of just 5 minutes. I've heard that others with the same GPU, an RX 5700 XT, are having similar problems. It's really annoying, and I'm looking for any help or insights. Feel free to ask me questions if you need more details!

What power supply unit (PSU) are you using? That can be a major factor in these shutdowns, especially with high-demand components like your GPU.
Which motherboard and RAM are you using? The compatibility and number of sticks could be causing instability, especially if they're mismatched.
I’ve been dealing with some frustrating crashes too. I have different hardware but had to troubleshoot a lot. Tried resetting BIOS, reinstalling drivers, and checking for Windows file integrity errors using sfc /scannow, but nothing worked. I had some random problems with my RAM as well; despite them being the same speed and size, they were from different kits. Replacing my RAM now but it still crashes frequently. Have you checked your RAM configuration? Seems like it could be a factor.
Sounds like you're dealing with a potential power issue here. Have you tried using a different power outlet or checking your PSU connections?
I’ve noticed that my shutdown issues seem to only happen with games downloaded from Xbox. Have you had any similar experiences? Maybe it's related to certain game platforms?
I'm currently using a 750W PSU. Do you think that could be an issue?
