Help! My PC Won’t Boot After Upgrading CPU and RAM

I recently upgraded my CPU and RAM, and now my PC won't boot at all. It was running perfectly fine before. I've been building PCs for over 20 years, so I'm familiar with the installation process. Here's what I've got:

- Motherboard: ROG Strix B450-F
- Old CPU: Ryzen 7 2700
- Old RAM: 2x 16GB GSkill DDR4-3200
- New CPU: Ryzen 7 5700X
- New RAM: 2x 16GB XPG DDR4-3200
- GPU: GeForce GTX 1070

After the upgrade, the fans and motherboard power on, but there's no signal to my monitors. There's a yellow/orange LED on the motherboard indicating a DRAM issue. I've tried reseating the RAM and testing different configurations, but nothing works.

I thought the 5700X might need a BIOS update, so I switched back to my old CPU and RAM setup, but the yellow LED is still on and it won't boot now. The GPU fans aren't spinning either, and there's a white LED lit up near the 8-pin connector. I've checked all connections, but it seems like I might have a PSU or motherboard issue.

Could I have damaged the motherboard during installation? Any insights would be appreciated!

Your motherboard should support BIOS flashback via a USB stick. Have you looked into that option? It might get everything up and running again.

I have the B450-F Gaming and couldn't find anything about BIOS flashback. I think it might not support it.

This could be a bent pin issue in your CPU socket. Sometimes that happens during installation. Did you check the pins on the 5700X or the socket?

I did pull the 2700 out and it stuck to the heatsink, which may have bent something. I checked the 5700X going back in, but what should I look for?

Don’t overlook the PSU. Some Ryzen CPUs draw a lot more power than expected. What wattage is your PSU? I had similar boot problems after an upgrade and had to upgrade my PSU to fix it.

Have you tried clearing the CMOS after switching back to the old hardware? Sometimes that can reset things. Make sure to try both methods—using jumper pins and removing the battery.

Yeah, I’ve already done both methods but it didn’t work.
