Help! My PC Won’t Display Anything After a Break

Hey everyone! I came home from my student job ready to jump online for some gaming, but when I turned on my PC, everything seemed fine. A bit later, I noticed that the screen was black and showing no signal at all. Just to clarify, I'm connected to the GPU and not the motherboard. I've already tried a bunch of troubleshooting steps: swapping out HDMI cables, restarting the PC, reseating the GPU, reseating the RAM, and even taking out and reinserting the CMOS battery after waiting. To make matters worse, there's no USB power either.

Here are my specs:
- GTX 1650
- Unknown prebuilt motherboard
- i5 1240F

I'm really stuck here and, being a student, I can't afford to buy new parts. If anyone has any ideas on what might be wrong or what I should do next, I'd really appreciate it!

It sounds like it might have gone into hibernate mode. Sometimes just leaving it unplugged for a while can reset things and get it working again.

A good quick test is to connect an HDMI cable to the motherboard's graphics output instead of the GPU, to see if the GPU is fried or not.

It's working fine now! I'm doing a fresh Windows install as we speak.

Have you tried unplugging the GPU and connecting the monitor to the motherboard's video output? That could help pinpoint if it's a GPU issue or something else.
