I've recently upgraded my GPU from an MSI RTX 3060 ti to an MSI RTX 5070 SHADOW 2X OC. My setup includes a Ryzen 3700x CPU, an MSI B450 Pro motherboard, and a Sharkoon WPM Gold Zero 750W PSU. After installing the new GPU, I ran into some issues because the PCIe cables from my old GPU didn't fit the new one. After some trial and error, I purchased a new cable that I thought would work. Now, when I try to power on my PC, I hear a brief click, and nothing happens. I checked the connections multiple times, and it seems like the PSU might be blocking the power. I'm worried my current PSU isn't compatible with this GPU, but it worked fine with the 3060 ti. Any tips on how to troubleshoot this or if I need a new PSU altogether?

Getting a PSU with a 12vhpwr connector could definitely solve your power issue. Also, don't forget to clear out any dust in your case while you're at it, as that can cause overheating or other problems.
It sounds like the issue might be related to the new cables not being compatible with your PSU. These cables have different standards, and mixing them up can cause your PSU to trip for safety. I suggest you look into getting a new PSU and use the cables that came with your GPU. Alternatively, you could take your setup to a local tech shop and see if they can test it with a different PSU or even let you borrow one to troubleshoot.
So you're saying there's no universal standard for these cables? That’s kinda frustrating. I’ve switched 6 to 12-pin cables before without issues, so I assumed since the new cables fit, they would work.

So you really think it’s the PSU? I’m puzzled since my 750W was supposed to handle upgrades. But if that’s the consensus, I’ll look into getting a new one.
