Help! My PC Won’t Start and the CPU Debug Light is On

Hey everyone,

I recently had to unplug my PC for a few days due to a mouse issue in my apartment. Now that it's been cleaned and the mouse is gone, I plugged my PC back in, but when I turned it on, nothing happened. The RGB lights come on, and the fans are spinning as they should, but there are no sounds or display output. The motherboard's CPU debug light is lit up. I've reseated all the components, replaced the CMOS battery, and I'm still at a standstill. I'm not super tech-savvy and I read something about being stuck in POST, but I'm not sure what that means. I can't afford to replace my PC or any parts right now, so I'm really hoping there's a simple fix. Is my PC completely dead or is there still a chance?

Have you tried doing a CMOS reset properly? It’s essential to have your power supply turned off or unplugged during the reset. Also, can you share what specific model your PC is or its full specs if it's custom-built? That info can really help troubleshoot!

Just to clarify, when you say you replaced the CMOS, did you also replace the internal "coin cell" battery, like a CR2032? After replacing it, you might need to go through the BIOS setup again.

Yeah, I did that! When I mentioned replacing the CMOS, I meant the battery too. Sorry for not making that clearer!
