Hey everyone! I dropped my phone and now the bottom half of the screen is unresponsive. The phone is still working—everything's visible—but I can't use the touchscreen. I need to transfer my authenticator app to a new phone, but it's locked behind my thumb scanner, which is a major issue. I'm looking for any possible solutions to bypass this or even ways to use an external thumb scanner. Any advice would be appreciated! Also, just to let you know, I'm using an Android device. Thanks in advance!

Different apps have different procedures. For example, the Microsoft Authenticator allows you to enter a password. Also, you could connect a USB or Bluetooth mouse to your phone to control it, which might help you navigate the unresponsive screen.
You might want to look into getting the screen replaced, though I totally get the reluctance to spend more money. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet, especially if it’s crucial for you to get in. Good luck!
Yeah, that was my initial thought too. Just trying to see if there are other options before I commit to spending again. Thanks for the suggestion!
Just curious, which authenticator app are you using? Google Authenticator has cloud backup now, which might save you some hassle. Not sure about the others, though.
Have you checked if your authenticator app has a backup feature? If not, you’ll likely need to replace the screen or the digitizer to unlock it. It’s also a good idea to check if your app has alternative login methods like a PIN or facial recognition.
I think it should have those options, but I'm pretty sure they're off by default. I probably forgot to enable it when switching phones. Appreciate your input!

That’s a great idea! I’ll try connecting a mouse and see what I can do. Thanks for the tip!
