I'm building my first PC and received some parts as hand-me-downs. I've been using the integrated graphics on the motherboard successfully for a week while I waited for my GPU to arrive. Now that I have the ZOTAC RTX 5070 Ti installed, the lights turn on, fans spin happily, and there's a green indicator light too. However, I'm not getting any output when I plug my DisplayPort cable into the GPU, even though everything worked fine with the motherboard. Additionally, the GPU isn't seating flush with the side panel of the case—there's about a 1/4 inch gap, and while I hear it click into the PCIe slot, pushing it further feels too resistant. I'd really appreciate any tips or advice to solve these issues. Thanks!

First off, make sure your DisplayPort cable is plugged directly into the GPU and not the motherboard. It sounds like that could be your main issue since the integrated graphics work fine. Also, check if the GPU is seated fully in the PCIe slot by giving it a little push down, but do it gently! Sometimes they might seem installed but aren't fully in. Let me know how it goes!
From your description, it sounds like it might be a potential issue with the motherboard's PCIe slot, especially if it's not detecting the GPU. If you have no spare parts for testing, it might be worth the $50 for a diagnostic at your nearest micro center just to confirm whether it's the motherboard or something else. Better safe than sorry!
I think I'll try the diagnosis to be safe. Thanks for the advice!

I tried plugging it into the GPU, but still no display. I'm not sure what to do next.
