I recently purchased an RX 580 Sapphire Nitro+ graphics card along with a new 600W power supply. However, I only have one 8-pin cable, and the GPU requires both a 6-pin and an 8-pin connection. I got an adapter to make it work, but I'm not getting any display—just a black screen. Everything powers up, the fans are spinning, but there's nothing on the monitor. What could be going wrong?

Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll definitely look into getting a new power supply that has the right pins for the GPU.
If it’s still causing issues, you might want to try reseating the GPU and checking the monitor connection just to be sure it’s not a loose cable.
Make sure the adapter you’re using is actually compatible with your power supply. Not all adapters work the same way, and using a generic one might cause issues. It’s usually best to get a power supply that has the right connectors in the first place.
What's the brand of your power supply? It should be fine since the RX 580 only needs about 185W in total. Just double-check that the power supply is decent quality. Also, did you test the GPU before buying it? Sometimes second-hand GPUs can have problems that you might not notice right away.
I bought it second-hand, and the seller assured me it was working fine before selling it.
I have a 600W PSU with a single pin-to-8 cable and I used an NL VSK RanVL adapter, but still no image. Any thoughts?.
