Help! My Screen Went Black After Deleting a User File

Asked By TechWizard42 On

I was trying to clean up some space on my laptop and stumbled upon a file labeled 'user file'. I'm not very tech-savvy, so I wasn't sure what it was, but I deleted some files inside it. After that, my laptop completely crashed—the screen turned black, and all my icons disappeared except for the trash bin. I'm in a panic here! Can anyone help me get this fixed?

It sounds like you've accidentally deleted a critical system file. You should try booting into safe mode to see if you can run a system recovery from there.

If safe mode doesn't work, you might end up having to reinstall Windows. But don't worry, that can fix the problem.

Wait, what happens to all my files if I reinstall? Also, there's still a 'users' folder in my File Explorer. Did I just delete something inside it?
