Hey everyone, I recently picked up a second NVMe SSD to migrate my Steam library, but I'm having some trouble. I installed it in the second PCIe NVMe slot on my motherboard since the first one is already in use with Windows. The good news is that my BIOS can see the new SSD, but it doesn't show up in Disk Management or when I use Diskpart on Windows. I'm running Windows 10 with all updates, and my BIOS version is F65. I've ensured that the system isn't set to RAID mode. Is there a chance my motherboard can't handle two NVMe SSDs? This situation is really frustrating, especially since the drive is brand new!
Here are my specs:
- Windows 10 build 19045.5854
- AORUS B450 PRO
- Ryzen 7 5800X
- Samsung 970 EVO NVMe installed on M2A_SOCKET
- Crucial P310 NVMe SSD installed on M2B_SOCKET (the one that's not showing up in Windows)

Since your new drive is visible in BIOS but not in Windows, it might need to be formatted first. In Windows 10, right-click the Start Menu and select Disk Management. Look for an area that’s black (unallocated) in the bottom half of the window. If you see it, right-click on that area, go to Properties, and check if it’s indeed the Crucial P310. Once confirmed, right-click on the unallocated space to format it. Just a heads-up, your AORUS B450 PRO motherboard has the M2B_SOCKET limited to PCIe 3.0x2, so keep that in mind for performance.
Have you checked under Windows Settings > System > Storage > Advanced Storage > Disks & Volumes? Sometimes drives can get missed there.
No, or I couldn't find it because I'm on Windows 10?
That's the issue—I don’t see any drive with a black line in Disk Management. Only the existing drive with allocated space is showing.
