I'm working on a new PC build with an Asus ROG STRIX Z790-E Gaming WIFI motherboard, Intel i9-13900KS CPU, XPG 32 GB DDR5 RAM, and an ASUS NVIDIA RTX 5070. Everything seems to be functioning well during gaming and stress tests, but the system keeps randomly shutting down as if I hit the CLEAR CMOS button. It does this even when idle or in the BIOS, forcing me to reset the BIOS settings every time. I've done a lot of troubleshooting including updating the BIOS, swapping CPUs, and trying multiple power supplies (even up to 1000W), but nothing has worked. I've ruled out the RAM and the CPU socket as well. Is there a specific setting I should change, or could it just be a defective motherboard? I'm planning to get a new motherboard tomorrow as I suspect it might be the culprit. Any advice?

It sounds like you've already covered a lot of ground in your troubleshooting! Since all your components work in a different rig, it really does seem like the motherboard might be the issue. Have you tried checking for any shorts or if the motherboard is properly seated? Sometimes a grounding issue can cause random resets. I'll be curious to hear if the new motherboard solves the problem!

Yeah, I checked the seating and couldn’t find any shorts. Fingers crossed the new board does the trick!
