Help! Need to Fix My Network Adapter Issue Before My Exam Tomorrow

Hey everyone, I'm having a major issue with my HP Envy running Windows 11. For the past few days, my network adapter (Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6E AX211 160MHz) has been giving me code 43 errors. I've tried everything: resetting my network, restoring my system, updating the driver, and even uninstalling and reinstalling it. The problem just keeps coming back at random times. I have to take my AP Psych test on my computer tomorrow, and I'm really worried because once the test app is open, it closes all other applications, including Device Manager. Is there a guaranteed way to stop this error before my test? Thanks for any help!

Honestly, the best bet might be to use a different laptop if you have access to one. Code 43 can sometimes stem from hardware issues rather than just a driver glitch. Since you've already tried a bunch of fixes, it could be a sign that your network card might be faulty.

Thanks for the advice! I might have to take the test on my school's computer, but I'm worried since I'm not great with Chromebooks. Better than dealing with errors, though!

You can also swing by your school IT department. They can provide you with a wired connection or help out in another way. Alternatively, stores like Walmart might have what you need.

You definitely should use a wired connection for your test to avoid any interruptions. There are ways to address the Wi-Fi issue too—try checking the NIC card's properties and enable fallback Wi-Fi standards. That way, if the 6E drops, it'll automatically switch to 5GHz or 2.4GHz. I learned this the hard way after failing a certification because my Wi-Fi crashed mid-test.

Do you think it's possible to get an Ethernet cable by tomorrow? The local RadioShack closed ages ago.

For your test, definitely stick with a reliable computer. Afterward, consider picking up an inexpensive USB Wi-Fi adapter; it might help with the recurring issues you've been facing.
