I'm trying to create two partitions on my hard drive for a dual-boot setup, but I'm running into issues trying to shrink my main C drive. I'm using Windows 11 and have followed several tutorials that suggested disabling certain Windows settings related to paging, but that hasn't helped. I attempted to use GParted from a USB, but I keep getting an error that says something like "Cluster accounting failed at *some numbers and addresses*: extra cluster in $Bitmap." Running the standard Windows check disk command doesn't seem to resolve the problem either. I have a 1TB SSD with about 300GB free, but the built-in Windows tools only allow me to shrink the volume by 60GB, which is insufficient. Does anyone have suggestions to fix this issue?

You should try running a full CHKDSK with the switches /F and /X on your drives. After that, reboot your PC a couple of times and then attempt to shrink the drive again. Also, don’t forget to trim the drive before booting into GParted!
Have you tried using the command `chkdsk c: /f /v /x /r`? Make sure to confirm that you want the check to run on reboot, then reboot and let chkdsk complete its work. If that doesn't solve the issue, give GSmartControl a shot to perform an extended self-test on your drive.
