I'm having a frustrating problem with my iPhone; it hasn't been able to send SMS messages all day. I've tried troubleshooting this issue for a long time, and it's not the first time something like this has happened. Unfortunately, none of the solutions I found online seem to work this time. While I was trying to figure out the problem more deeply, I accidentally removed my phone number from iMessage, and now it just keeps loading without any progress. I'm looking for any help or tips to resolve this situation since I've already done the recommended fixes I found online.

Honestly, have you thought about using RCS instead of SMS? It offers a lot more features if your carrier supports it.
Have you checked your Settings? Go to Messages and make sure 'Send as SMS' is turned on. Also, look under iMessage and confirm that your phone number is selected for sending and receiving messages. If your number keeps disappearing from there, that's usually a sign something's off. If you've reset things and it's still not sending texts, it might actually be a carrier issue. I had a similar problem once, and the solution was to contact my carrier to reprovision my SIM or even switch to eSIM.
I'll try this in the morning when I'm more awake! Thank you!

I have RCS enabled too, but it keeps saying it's waiting for activation or something like that.
