Hey everyone! I'm usually pretty good at troubleshooting on my own, but I'm stumped right now. My PC has developed a weird issue where I can only use the first two RAM slots. If I try to boot with RAM in slots 2 and 4, the motherboard shows an error and the RAM light stays on. I've tested all my RAM sticks in slot 2, and they work just fine. I thought it was the motherboard, so I got a new one, but the same problem happened after just a few minutes. I've updated the BIOS and all my drivers, but I'm worried it could be a CPU problem. Any insights or suggestions would be super appreciated!

Since you've had this issue on two different motherboards, it's not likely that both are faulty. The problem might actually lie with the CPU's RAM controller. Slots 2 and 4 share a channel; if there's a bent pin or something causing a bad connection, that could cause your problem. I'd suggest removing the CPU to check for any bent pins, reseating it, and maybe even loosening the cooler a bit to reduce pressure. If that doesn’t work, there might be an issue with the CPU itself.
Have you thought about trying just one stick of RAM to see if it boots? Instead of using two sticks, start with one to narrow down the issue.
