I've got a bit of a tech headache. I'm having issues with my USB ports; only 4 out of a bunch are working. Here's the rundown: all of my front USB ports have completely stopped functioning, and 4 rear ports are out too. The other 4 rear ports are working fine since I've plugged in my keyboard, mouse, and speakers without issues.
This could be linked to something I did—I used a driver updater called Outbyte (I know, I know, probably a bad idea), but I uninstalled it right after. I've even tried resetting Windows and reinstalling it, but that didn't help either. My motherboard is a Gigabyte B450M VS3H V2.
Here's what I've already attempted:
- Resetting Windows
- Installing new drivers from the AMD website
- Trying all the solutions suggested on YouTube about power management
- Asking ChatGPT for help
- Updating the BIOS
- Unplugging and re-plugging everything in the computer.
Any assistance from you tech experts would be greatly appreciated!

First, check your Device Manager for any disabled devices. Sometimes a simple toggle can solve USB issues. It might also help to look for any device showing as 'unknown' to see if drivers need updating. You mentioned an unknown device; addressing that could be key.
Best of luck!
Thanks for the tip! I did check, and there's an 'unknown device' listed with some AMD hardware IDs. Do you think that means drivers are missing or corrupted?
