Hey everyone! My dad recently picked up an iPad at an auction, but we've hit a wall. The device is locked to someone else's email account, and despite trying all the usual reset methods, we can't get past the passcode requirement. I can link it to my Apple ID, but after entering my password, it just loops back to asking for the original passcode. Is there any chance to get past this, or are we stuck?

Unfortunately, if the iPad is still attached to someone else's Apple account, there’s no way to bypass that without the original account password. You won’t be able to enter your own credentials until that account lock is removed. You’re kind of stuck in limbo here.

That’s what I suspected! I’ve heard that people sometimes manage to bypass these locks, but it sounds like it’s not straightforward. My dad is notorious for buying these locked devices at auction without checking first.
