Help! Trying to Connect My Old CRT TV to a DVD/VHS Player

Hey everyone! I recently inherited a vintage DVD/VHS player from my grandma along with a collection of the first six Star Wars movies on VHS. I'm super excited to watch them for May 4th, but I'm having a tough time getting my old CRT TV (a Thomson 31GT671, I think) to work with it. The TV works fine with my classic NES, but when I connect the DVD/VHS player, all I see is static. I've tried all the channels and still nothing comes up unless the NES is on. There's no AV or Input button on my remote, so I'm really stuck. Any tips to get this working would be amazing!

Could you share a picture of how you have it set up? Sometimes a visual can help troubleshoot better!

Make sure you are connecting everything correctly. Are you using RCA cables (red, white, yellow) or coax for the DVD/VHS player? If you’re using an HDMI to AV converter, ensure it’s set up right. If that’s a Samsung DVD/VHS model, it should work, but check if it’s powered on!

I'm using an HDMI to AV cord for the Samsung DVDVR376, so I think that's all good!

You should typically switch your TV to channel 3 or 4 to see the VCR feed. Try doing that!
