Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a pickle here and could use some advice. I recently tried to get a refund for my Microsoft 365 subscription that I thought I signed up for on a free trial. I had used the service before but it's been a while. Even after signing up, I still got charged $99.99 for the year, which threw me off. I contacted Apple Pay right away through the 'Report a Problem' feature but my refund request was denied. I tried again, providing all the details of the situation, but it was denied once more, claiming it wasn't eligible for a refund. I keep getting a message that my subscription won't officially cancel until May 2026, even though I already asked to cancel it. Microsoft says I need to deal with Apple Pay since that was my payment method. I'm really regretting using Apple Pay for this and think if I had just used my debit card directly, I could have sorted this out with Microsoft more easily. Has anyone faced something similar with Apple? What exactly makes a refund ineligible? I can't seem to find solid info on this.

It sounds like since you've already accepted a free trial on your Apple account in the past, you can't get another one, which is probably why your refund was denied. Refunds from the App Store aren’t automatic; if you've already submitted a couple of requests, that might've used up your appeal chance, too.
Just to clarify, make sure you know how you paid for the subscription. You have to cancel through the App Store if that’s how you set it up. If it shows that it won’t cancel until 2026, it means you paid for that year, so it’s just a matter of waiting until then unless you get your bank involved. Also, check if you signed into the right Microsoft account when you got that free trial offer; it could be linked to a different one if there was confusion.
