I recently ran into a problem booting my laptop, and now it's stuck on the BitLocker screen. I need my recovery key but when I tried to access it, I realized I have to update my Outlook security info because it was linked to an old phone number that I can't access anymore. Now, I'm facing a 30-day waiting period just to retrieve my key and get back to using my laptop. I really don't want to wipe my PC clean, but that seems to be my only option. Is there anything else I can do to bypass this waiting period?

Remember, no key means no access to your data. You’ll have to wait it out or wipe the drive. It’s a hassle, but that's the reality with BitLocker.
Have you considered swapping in another drive? You can install Windows on a new drive and once the 30 days is over, switch the drives back. Just a thought!
Unfortunately, those are pretty much your only options. You'll either have to wait for the recovery key or wipe your laptop. It's frustrating, I know.
What happens if I wipe it though? Can I just redownload everything and log back into my accounts, or is that going to cause more headaches?

Just curious, if I wipe it clean, will I still be able to redownload my games and log back into my account later?
