I'm soon traveling to Japan and want to use an eSIM for data. I bought one through the Saily app, but I encountered an error when trying to install it: 'Unable to set up eSIM. This eSIM is not compatible with this iPhone. Contact your network provider for more information.' I'm unsure why this is happening—did I make a mistake? My phone details are as follows: Model: iPhone 14 Pro, Model Number: MQ0E3LL/A, Serial Number: D9MCFMQFK6. I've had this refurbished phone from Rakuten (France) for a year, and it works perfectly with a physical SIM. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! PS: This is my first post here, so I'm still getting the hang of things!

Check with your cell provider—sometimes they have restrictions on using secondary eSIMs. If you're using Free (a French carrier), there could be limitations on their end that affect compatibility.
Make sure to contact the app developer for the eSIM you bought. Often, local eSIMs work better than those purchased through online services. They might have specific requirements or configurations that need to be set up for your iPhone model.
I did reach out to them, but they just refunded my purchase without much help. Really frustrating!
It sounds like your phone might be locked to your carrier. Check if your device is locked by going to Settings > General > About and looking for the Carrier Lock section. If it’s locked, you won’t be able to install another eSIM alongside your current one.
I checked, and there’s no 'Carrier Lock' section, but the 'Network Provider Lock' says 'No SIM restrictions.' So that shouldn't be the issue!

Yeah, I tried removing the eSIM from the app, but that didn’t resolve anything.
