I'm helping my friend build his first PC and he's really excited about it! I've picked out a parts list that fits his budget, and I'm gifting him a Ryzen 5 5700X CPU that's on its way. Here's the link to the parts I've chosen: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/k4PN74. Since I'm new to building PCs myself, I want to make sure that everything will work together properly. Any advice or feedback would be super helpful, thanks!

Just a heads up, don't pair that AM4 CPU with an AM5 motherboard because they won't be compatible. You really need to look at the socket types to avoid issues like that. Otherwise, nice build!
Consider returning that CPU for one that's AM5. Building with AM4 right now isn't ideal since it's not as future-proof. The only scenario where AM4 makes sense is if you're reusing older components. For a new build, go for AM5 if you can!
If you're set on the Ryzen 5 5700X, check out this suggested build instead: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qGdpYd. It includes a better GPU, PSU, and SSD. But just to echo, if you can, swapping to an AM5 CPU is the way to go! Also, you might not need to buy Windows, especially not on DVD.
Okay sweet, I haven’t bought the CPU yet so I can change that around. Thank you!
Yep, cancelled my order, thank you!
