I'm experiencing some streaming issues with my setup, which looks like this: CABLE MODEM > Managed Switch > Router (which provides WiFi) > TV. I recently rearranged my network devices in preparation for setting up a Home Lab, and aside from the new managed switch, I haven't added any new hardware. This is the first time I've manipulated my network this way, so it's possible I made a mistake. I'm also concerned that my streaming services might block my connection because they can't see all my data. I'm looking for some guidance on this issue as it's quite late, and I'm feeling frustrated trying to figure it all out.

To sort out your streaming issues, make sure that your modem connects directly to the router first. After that, you can connect your managed switch to a LAN port on the router. Remember that the modem typically registers a single MAC address at a time, and if multiple devices try to connect, it can block them. It's best if the switch has only the router's WAN connected to it to avoid confusion for the modem.
I just wanted to add that it's usually a better practice to connect the modem to the router itself, then add your switch to the router's LAN ports. If you do it differently, like connecting the switch directly to the modem, it might complicate things since the modem can only handle one MAC address at a time and may block others.
