Hey everyone! I just upgraded from my old iPhone 6s+ to an iPhone 16 Pro after nearly a decade. I attempted a direct transfer using Quick Start, but it gave me an error saying there isn't enough storage on my new phone, and the only option was to erase everything. I currently pay for a 2TB iCloud storage plan on my old phone. However, if I expand the storage for the new phone, how would I do it? The process seems confusing because I was already logged into my Apple account when trying to transfer, so why is it saying there isn't enough storage? I'm feeling a bit lost—any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you're running into a hardware storage issue rather than just iCloud. The storage expansion you're paying for affects your cloud backups, but it won't help with transferring data directly to your new iPhone if it doesn't have enough internal storage. Unfortunately, you'll need a device with a higher capacity for that. Have you tried freeing up some space on the new iPhone before the transfer?
Just to clarify, when you mention 'direct transfer,' are you talking about Apple’s Quick Start? If so, that method requires enough local storage on the new device to accommodate all your data. You might need to delete some of the apps or files on the iPhone 16 Pro before proceeding with the transfer.
