I've been dealing with this annoying issue for a bit now. I initially thought the problem was caused by a USB device ejecting. However, USBLogView suggests otherwise. Just yesterday, I got a black screen while using PaintdotNET alongside Fortnite, which resulted in the game crashing. During gaming sessions, I mainly experience brief frame drops. Here are my specs: Monitor: 27GR83Q-B.AUS, Motherboard: MSI MEG X570S UNIFY-X MAX ATX AM4, CPU: Ryzen 9 5900x, GPU: ASUS TUF RTX 4080 OC (currently running driver 572.83), and I'm on Windows 10 Pro 22H2 (19045.5737). Any ideas on what's going wrong?

The sound you're hearing isn't limited to USB devices; it can indicate any device disconnecting, including the video card. You should check the Event Viewer for any logs or warnings that might relate to your GPU. Also, if you run a stress test with tools like OCCT or Furmark, it might help reveal any instability in your system. Good luck!
It sounds like your OS might be messing with your graphics settings. There are times when it defaults to your onboard graphics instead of using your dedicated GPU, which can lead to issues like you’re seeing. You can check out this guide to see how to ensure your games use the correct graphics card. Just a thought!
Thanks for the suggestion! But my CPU and motherboard don't actually have onboard graphics.
