I've run into a really strange problem with our Xerox printers. We've got several models (B310s, B315s, and AltaLink C8170s) all connected to our network, and intermittently, print jobs are showing up as 'Remote User' and printing dozens of pages filled with random characters or odd number sequences instead of the expected documents. It's hit or miss; most of the time, if the user just resends the job, it prints fine. This issue is inconsistent and occurs regardless of the document type or source. We've already installed the latest drivers from Xerox, used IP printing and PCL 6, and updated the firmware. Has anyone else experienced this? It feels like there's a systemic issue, but I'm not sure where to go from here.

I had a similar issue once with a Ricoh printer where the driver needed to be a specific one. Maybe try using a Postscript driver or even an older version to see if that helps with your Xerox printers.
We're experiencing something similar with our Konica printers. Our printer support said it was a V4 driver issue. You might want to check if that's the case with your Xerox models too.
We had an issue with Toshiba and HP printers where a randomly printed PDF would throw out hundreds of pages of strange code. I deleted the Microsoft IPP driver, and it seemed to stop the problem. Later, I learned about an issue with Threat Locker, which we also use. After turning off a specific setting, everything's been fine. Might be worth looking into your security settings.
Yeah, when our team switched to new laptops with Windows 11, we faced a similar problem. It turned out to be driver-related, but since we swapped devices, I can't pinpoint what exactly fixed it. If it's just a few users facing this, check the printer logs to find out who's having the issue. The intermittent nature of it is really perplexing though.
This really feels like a driver issue to me. Sometimes using a universal driver instead of a specific one makes a difference, so it could be worth trying that.
