Hey everyone! I'm not the most tech-savvy person out there, but I'm in a bit of a bind. I recently got a Lenovo laptop running Windows 11 and went on a downloading spree of various antivirus programs, trying to avoid subscription services like McAfee due to all the pop-ups. I ended up installing ZoneAlarm, Proton VPN, and some other stuff I'm not even sure about. Now my laptop is running super slow, and Firefox keeps crashing unexpectedly.
I also tried downloading Xodo PDF software, but it just won't work. I've been able to get other PDF editors, but now I'm stuck with those remnants on my system. I tried deleting them and the ZoneAlarm files, but some won't budge because of permission issues—I thought I was the admin!
Why won't Xodo download for me? And can someone recommend a good, budget-friendly PDF editor (under $50) that can handle basic tasks like editing fillable PDFs, combining documents, and adding images/signatures? I really need your help!

Honestly, at this point, a factory reset might be your best bet. If you're not too sure what’s all installed on your laptop, the mess could be beyond simple fixes. Just make sure to back up any important files first!
ZoneAlarm? Wow, that's a blast from the past! Not sure if it’s still relevant today. You might want to consider uninstalling it completely if you can—those old programs often create conflicts.
I wish I had never installed it! What a headache!
Oh man, what do you mean by 'damage'? Could I have messed up my computer permanently? Or will a factory reset fix things? Thanks for the advice!
